Travelling to Redditch by Car

Redditch is circumnavigated by the M5 Motorway to the west, the M42 to the north and the M40 to the east,
unfortunately though it is not best served by exits from any of these motorways and all routes will
involve an amount of A or B Road Driving.
When approaching from the south / south west use the M5 Motorway and come off at Junction 5
to follow the A38 towards Bromsgrove which becomes the Worcester Road, Redditch Road and ultimately the Stoke Road.
At Bromsgrove turn right on the A448 Bromsgrove Highway which will then lead you to the South and Western sides of Redditch.
When approaching from the north / north west use the M6 Motorway and come off the M6 at junction 8
which is the slip road for the start of the M5 follow the M5 and come off the M5 at junction 4a
which is the slip road for the start of the M42 follow the M42 and come off at Junction 2.
Turn right at the roundabout and follow the A441 south (Birmingham Road, Alvechurch Highway)
which runs through the northern and eastern boundaries of Redditch.
When approaching from the M40 south it is best to stay on the M40 until it becomes the M42 at junction 3a
then follow the M42 and come off at Junction 2.
Turn left at the roundabout and follow the A441 south (Birmingham Road, Alvechurch Highway)
which runs through the northern and eastern boundaries of Redditch.
An alternative when approaching from the M40 south is to come off at Junction 15 (Warwick)
and follow the A46 towards Budbrooke before turning left on the A4189 (Hampton Road, Henley Road)
towards Claverdon, Henley-in-Arden, Oakenshaw and ultimately approaching Redditch from the south.
When approaching from the north / north east use the M1 Motorway and come off the M1 at junction 23a
which is the slip road for the start of the A42 follow the A42
which becomes the M42 at junction 11 follow the M42 and come off at Junction 2.
Turn left at the roundabout and follow the A441 south (Birmingham Road, Alvechurch Highway)
which runs through the northern and eastern boundaries of Redditch.
When approaching from the south / south east use the M1 Motorway and come off the M1 at junction 19
which is the slip road for the start of the M6 follow the M6
which feeds to the M42 at junction 4 follow the M42 and come off at Junction 2.
Turn left at the roundabout and follow the A441 south (Birmingham Road, Alvechurch Highway)
which runs through the northern and eastern boundaries of Redditch.
When approaching from the east the A14 is the best route as it joins the start of the M6 and
drivers can follow the route above, the alternative is to join the M1 and depending where
you join follow the relevant directions for travelling north or south.
